Stranraer Recycling Group, a non-profit-making voluntary organisation, along with Portpatrick Community Council, have launched the 'UCANALUCAN' aluminium can recycling project. Profits received from the sale of the aluminium for recycling will benefit local charity Aldouran Glen village in Leswalt. The charity is committed to those with special needs and their carers. Blairgowrie Adult Resource Centre for people with learning difficulties, promote environmental awareness through aluminium foil and can recycling service. Funds raised from the sale of the aluminium will support the Group's Take a Break Project to allow people with special needs to spend time with able bodied volunteers in different surroundings.
