Buying these special materials to support Alupro’s Recycle for Africa programme means that every single can recycled counts towards improving nutrition, tackling deforestation and - in a few years’ time - providing the basis for small businesses to dry and juice fruit for year-round health. We’re funding greenhouses at the ‘mother’ nursery in Malawi to provide training and initial stock for grafted, top quality fruits such as orange, lemon and avocado . And on top of that we’re promising to grow a fruit tree for every tonne of aluminium cans and foil recycled in the UK, initially until end-June 2009. We’re targeting to grow 85,000 trees over a two-year period, and your help is vital.
