NEW WEBSHOP BOOSTS AWAY-FROM-HOME RECYCLING

Alupro has launched a new webshop selling collection materials for away- from-home locations such as offices, canteens and sports and leisure facilities. The materials support Alupro's Recycle for Africa campaign, ensuring organisations have an attractive recycling area which will help boost participation: the campaign guarantees that the more aluminium cans are recycled, the more fruit trees will be grown at community nurseries in rural Malawi.

The cardboard collection boxes for aluminium drinks cans and office paper are sold with hard-poster signage promoting the Recycle for Africa campaign. The materials are keenly priced, with discounts and promotional leaflets available for recycling service providers wanting to sell on to their customers. Specially-branded Linpac containers are also available.

The webshop is part of Alupro's drive to stimulate collection of the 30,000 tonnes of aluminium drinks cans - worth more than £20m - which are used at away-from- home and on-the-go locations.

Executive director Rick Hindley says "Now that we can all recycle aluminium drinks cans at home, and we know how environmentally efficient the whole process is, we don't want to have to throw them away when we're at work or travelling.

"An increasing number of waste management companies are now offering recycling services as part of commercial waste contracts, so the time is right for all organisations to offer good recycling facilities to their staff and customers.

"The Recycle for Africa theme, together with a package of internal communication materials such as screensavers and project updates, ensures that participation rates are optimised, so take a look at what's on offer at www.alupro.org.uk/webshop.htm."
