Aluminium packaging recycling has made a strong start to 2013, with provisional data released by Defra showing sales of Packaging Waste Recovery Notes (PRNs) in the first three months of the year exceeding the same period last year. This puts us on course to meet this year’s new increased target (43%).
MetalMatters, the metal packaging industry’s kerbside recycling improvement programme, has followed up its initial promise and delivered unprecedented success in 2012. The programme has reached nearly two million households across 31 local authorities and significantly increased the metals capture rate in each campaign.
